William Edgar Clapp

September 21, 1922 — July 2, 2012

William “Bill” Edgar Clapp, age 89, of Spiceland, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at Henry County Hospital. He was born September 21, 1922 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Robert and Minnie (Arnold) Clapp.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. Bill enjoyed fishing and camping with his buddies, yard work, working on his house and going to the casino.

Survivors include his brother, Bob L. (wife, Joan) Clapp of Spiceland; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marcella Clapp of Spiceland; special friend, Vicki Groce; friends at Scooters Bar and Grill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Clapp; brothers, Henry, Silas, James, Charles, and Earl; sister, Lucy.

A Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland with Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the New Castle American Legion and an active duty contingent of the US Army. Memorial contributions may be given to the Christian Love Help Center, 418 S.18th St., New Castle, IN 47362, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
