William Craig

March 5, 1915 — October 13, 2008

William Milton Craig, age 93, of Auburn, Indiana and formerly of Mt. Summit passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 at Wesley Health Care in Auburn, Indiana. He was born March 5, 1915 in Ottawa Canada to the late Samuel and Mary (Stearns) Craig.

He was a retired minister in 1980 and did a lot of interim work after retirement. He had lived in Mt. Summit since 1973 and had moved to Auburn, Indiana in the last 5 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Auburn and had pastored the Mt. Summit Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 7 years. He was a member of the 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rites. He was past president of the Disciples of Amateur Radio Fellowship and was also an accomplished artist.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years: Margaret A. Craig; a son: Dr. Robert (wife: Darlene) Craig of Auburn; a daughter: Ruth (husband: Richard) Kendal of Ossian, IN; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother: Everett Craig.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters: Mary Jane Pifer and Donna Craig; a grandson: Carl Pifer; a sister: Muriel Clayton; two brothers: Lorne and Leonard Craig.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Mt. Summit Christian Church in Mt. Summit with Reverend Mark O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the Mt.
