William N. Dishman, age 80, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born October 12, 1930 in Wayne County, Kentucky to the late Roland E. and Dortha Jan (Lowe) Dishman.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1988 following over 35 years of service. He belonged to Local Union #371. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and feeding the birds.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dishman; his daughters, Wanda Dishman of Monticello, KY and Vonda (husband, Kent) Van Ostrand of Freeport, IL; son, Nathan (wife, Betty) Dishman of Monticello, KY; stepdaughters, Patricia Ealey of Columbus, OH, Jennie Boler of New Castle, and Janice Wegman of Chillicothe, OH; stepson, Chad Workman of Chillicothe, OH; brother, Guy O. Dishman of New Castle; sister, Opal (husband, Jess) Jones of Upland eleven grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; several great and step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife, Abby Dishman; brothers, Norman, James, Paul, Mikie, Cleo, and Jerry Dishman; sisters, Verzilla Smith, Betty Dishman, and Emma Miller; stepdaughter, Dicey Hoover; stepson, Richard Campbell.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Phil Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cornerstone Ministries, 2904 “B” Ave., New Castle, IN 47362 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
