William Edward Fitzpatrick

William Edward “Bill” Fitzpatrick, 90, a resident of New Castle passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Henry Community Health. He was born April 7, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward Dwight and Mary R. (Cuthbert) Fitzpatrick.

Bill retired as a chemical engineer from Playtex Corp. in 1996 after 30 years of service. He had previously worked for Absur Corp. for ten years. A veteran of the United States Army, he served as a Second Lieutenant. Bill was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle where he belonged to the Joy Club. He was formerly a member of the High Mountain Church of the Nazarene where he served as church treasurer, board member and Sunday school teacher. Bill also served as secretary of the Metro New York District Church of the Nazarene. An avid reader, Bill enjoyed traveling.

Those left to cherish Bills memory include his wife of nearly 50 years: LoRae (Reed) Fitzpatrick, whom he married August 3, 1974; four children: Dawn (Baron) Brown, William Edward (Karen) Fitzpatrick, Jr., Sean Michael Fitzpatrick and Robert Francis Fitzpatrick; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a daughter: Tracy Ann Nickens and a brother: Dwight Edward Fitzpatrick.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with Pastors Jimmy Southerland, Ryan Farmer and Jeff Gray officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle..
