William Henry Jeffries

William Henry Jeffries, 93, of New Castle passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. He was born September 30, 1917 in New Castle, a son of the late Henry and Cecil Ann (Stokes) Jeffries.
He worked for Woods Dry Cleaning and 766 Dry Cleaners. He also worked at Chrysler Forge Plant for approximately 20 years. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Asian-Pacific area on the U.S.S. Sederstorm. William was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball.
Survivors include his wife: Sarah Jeffries; son: Michael D. Jeffries; sister: Geneva Jeffries; sisters-in-law: Mary Jeffries and Shelby Hagerman; brother-in-law: Frank (wife: Leanna) Hagerman; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Opal Roe, Elsie Williams and Jeanette Jeffries; three brothers: Clair, Wyatt and Robert Jeffries.
Services to be held at convenience of family, burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are being entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be made to donors’ favorite charity.
