William Lee “Bill” Rabe, 67, of Spiceland, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a very brief illness. He was born December 16, 1947 in Indianapolis.
Bill was a 1967 graduate of Charlottesville High School, the last graduating class of the school. He had been an OTR truck driver for over 42 years. He had traveled over 8 million miles (5 million verified) without an accident. He was a past member of the Milton Masonic Lodge and had attended Spiceland United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed fishing, but loved his grandchildren most of all.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna K. Rabe of Spiceland whom he married June 16, 1990; son, Bill (Amy) Rabe, Jr. of North Vernon, IN; stepson, Bert (Teresa) Brummett of Somerset, KY; five grandchildren, Zarech, Brandon and Tina Kay Rabe, all of North Vernon, IN Tyler and Karcyn Brummett, both of Somerset, KY; one sister, Sharon Boucher of Shelbyville, IN; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Cleon Williams of Richmond and Carmen Neal of New Castle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Carol Wiley officiating.
