William D. “Danny” Vaught, Jr., age 85, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born September 15, 1926 in Henry County, Indiana to the late William D. and Ola B. (Godby) Vaught, Sr.
He had worked at Chrysler Corporation for 15 years and for the United States Postal Service for 26 years. He served in the United States Army in World War II in the Philippines and Japan.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Wisener; a granddaughter, Laura E. (husband, Donnie) Gibala of Nashville, TN; great granddaughter, Abigail Gibala; niece, Rebecca Reneau (husband Eric) Slaughter of Indianapolis; a great niece, Erica (husband Lawrie) Wright; great-great niece, Teri Simerly; two great-great nephews, Cale Durbin and Avie Wright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Vaught; a sister, Maxine Reneau.
Graveside Services will be at 10:30 am. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at South Mound Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Animal Shelter with envelopes available at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
