William E. "Bill" Morgan

William E. "Bill" Morgan, 82, of Knightstown died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. He was born July 13, 1931 in Sabetha, Kansas to the late Cloy and Sadie (Plank) Morgan.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force he was a member of the 817 Troop Carrier Wing. He had been employed at Western Electric before retiring in 1973 and later worked at Farm Bureau Insurance, Sears, and as Knightstown Town Manager and a school bus driver for the Charles A. Beard School Corporation. Bill was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church, VFW, and American Legion Post #152. He was an avid follower of his grandchildren's sports and activities and a supporter of Knightstown High School and Greenfield Central Athletics. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
Survivors include his wife: Joy D. Morgan of Knightstown; a son: Bob Morgan (fiancé: Carolyn Tompkins) of Greenfield; a daughter: Cindy (husband: Mike) Biehl of Knightstown; grandchildren: Brittany Biehl (fiancé: Ryan Dishman) of New Castle, Brice Biehl of Muncie, Kori Biehl of Knightstown, and Emma and Ross Morgan of Greenfield; a great-grandchild: Braxton Michael Dishman; a sister: Debbie (husband: Joe) Whitesitt of Knightstown; three sisters-in-law: Carolyn Morgan of Knightstown, Billie (husband: Merle) Blakely of Connersville and Judy (husband: Bill) Griffith of Ft. Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Lloyd "Beefy" Morgan, Kenny (wife: Eleanor) Morgan, and Ron Morgan; and a sister-in-law: Donna (husband: Lloyd) Pilgrim; and a niece.
Services will be 11:00am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with the Rev. Curt Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery with veterans' services performed by American Legion Post #152 and an active duty contingent from the U.S. Air Force. Friends may call from 4 - 8 pm Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Knightstown High or Greenfield Central Athletic Departments with envelopes available at the funeral home.
