Willie Rigney, Jr., age 86, of New Castle, passed away at his residence, Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was born June 21, 1928 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Willie and Dora Rigney.
He retired form Avesta Sheffield following 43 years of service. He was a faithful supporter and member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church for over 62 years, where he served as an usher, trustee and many other various positions through the year. He was an avid gardener. Junior was the best husband, father and grandfather in the world.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Rigney of New Castle; children, Judy Rigney of New Castle, Michael (Georgia) Rigney of Albany, KY, Robin (Del) Willson of Albany, KY; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Dalton of Richmond; brother, J.C. (Betty) Rigney of Dunlap, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Henry and Lizzie Foster; a son, Danny Rigney and five sisters.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Donald Silvers and Reverend David Cole officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
