Willie E. Vincent, 95, a resident of New Castle passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Waters of New Castle following a long illness. He was born October 3, 1921 in Albany, KY to the late J.O. and Emma (Aaron) Vincent.
A veteran of World War II, Willie served with the United States Army in the Southwest Pacific. He had been a resident of New Castle for over 65 years. Willie worked for Western Products for 16 years and retired from Delco Remy in 1987. He belonged to First Baptist Church in New Castle where he was the oldest living member. He was also a member of the Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree mason, the Ancient Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and UAW Local 662. Willie was also affiliated with the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 69 years: Frances (Dickerson) Vincent; a son: David E. “Eddie” (Barbara) Vincent; two sisters: Dean Mullins of Byrdstown, TN, and Eva Cross of Aspison, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Aubrey, Etheridge and Kay Vincent and a sister: Ann Morrison.
Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Norwood Kreuzinger officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Grider Hill Cemetery, Albany, KY along with military rites. You may express condolences or share a memory of Willie at
