Jean Rader, age 82, of New Castle, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 28, 1926 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Samuel Walter and Nannie Lou (Ford) Morgan.
She retired from Perfect Circle Dana Corporation of Hagerstown in 1989 after 30 years of service and had also worked at Abbott’s Candies in Hagerstown. Jean was a member of Hagerstown Order of the Eastern Star, Perfect Circle Singing Secretaries and Chicago Corner Christian Church. She was an artist and enjoyed drawing caricatures. She also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband: Lloyd Rader; a daughter: Cinda Stohler Blevins; a son: Randy (wife: Michelle) Stohler; five stepchildren: Steve (wife: Gloria) Rader, Danny (wife: Betty) Rader, Connie (husband: Merrill) Mays, Sharon (husband: Alan) Lindsey, and Mary Rader; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Jeffrey Lynn Stohler; a sister and two brothers.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Tom Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery in Hagerstown. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of the donor’s choice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
