Wilma G. Walters

Wilma G. Walters, 84, of New Castle passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was born August 17, 1940 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Chester and Elma (Cross) Huddleston.

Wilma worked at Firestone Corporation and Huntington Industries in New Castle most of her life. She owned and operated Wilma’s Upholstery in Pendleton and New Castle. Wilma was a driver for the Amish which she thoroughly enjoyed. A long-time member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, she enjoyed quilting, jigsaw puzzles and cooking. Wilma was the matriarch of the family, and loved spending time with them. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Nancy) Webb of New Castle and Kelly Goodwin (Jamie Rhodes) of Arlington, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cindy Stockton; grandchildren, Sherman (Jaimee) Stockton, Brandy Francisco, Amie (Dan) Neal, Mikel (Ronda) Webb, Brad Webb (Natalie Clifton) and Hailey (Brad) Guidi, Lori (Dan) Mosgrove and JT (Amber) Burns; many great-grandchildren and great great -grandchildren; special great-granddaughter whom she helped raise, Alexis Stockton; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dan Walters, whom she married in 1981; son, Kenny Stockton; siblings, Dora Dean Owens, Jane Stockton and Bennie Huddleston.

Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 9530 E. 400 S. in New Castle with Pastor Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday the 21st at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church.
