Wilma Carol Williams, 80, of New Castle passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the Heritage House of New Castle. She was born October 1, 1930 in New Castle the daughter of the late William and Marie (Kimbrough) Myers.
Wilma was a graduate of New Castle High School class of 1948. She retired from the State Development Center in 1992 following 32 years of service. She accepted Christ at an early age at Wiley United Methodist Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member until her passing. She passionately enjoyed cooking, cook-outs and family holidays. Over the years Wilma had served in various church groups, scout leader, and had worked at the Boy’s Club.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 62 years: Wilbur Williams of New Castle; her son: Steven L. Williams of New castle; a brother-in-law: Marion Williams of Richmond; four grandchildren: Edana Williams, Mark Williams, Daimeon Williams, and Joshua Williams; two great grandchildren: Troy Wiley Jr. and Jarrin Williams; four nieces: Carol Ann Mack of Richmond, Saundra Lynn of Saginaw MI, Gretchen Dempsey of New Castle and Jenny Dunn of Indianapolis; and a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son: Duane Williams; a daughter: Constance Sue Griffin; son-in-law: Rollin Griffin; three brothers: George, Myron, and James Myers and two sisters: Harriett Tate and Fannie Dempsey.
Services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Wiley United Methodist Church with Reverend Charles Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at
