Yvonne Overton

Yvonne Overton, age 88, of New Castle, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. She was born February 7, 1925 in New Castle, Indiana to the late George William and Anna Lillian (Lawson) Dameron.

She retired from Bell Telephone in New Castle, then went on to Nursing School and worked as an LPN at Community East and Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a member of South Side Church of Christ and the Ma Bells. She also enjoyed playing the piano.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Bryan of New Castle; three grandsons, Curtis (wife, Brandy) Blankenship of Sulphur Springs, David Morgerson of Sulphur Springs and Cristopher (wife, Lora Ann) Blankenship of New Castle; eight great grandchildren, Devin (wife, Ashlee), Amber, Thomas, Amanda, Brittany, Dylan, Bryananna and Ivan and Benjamin; three great-great grandchildren, Kristina, Brandon and Ava; step daughter, Linda (husband, George) Gilchrist of Farmland; several step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 husbands and a sister, Vivian.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Bobby Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Yvonne Overton Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
