Kevin and his wife, Cindy, have two children, Evan, and his wife, Zoe, who live in New Castle, and Olivia Fritz, and her husband, Everett, who live in Port Orchard, WA. A 1986 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Kevin attended Ball State University and graduated in 1991 from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He and Cindy have four beautiful grandchildren, Ethan, Hadley, Scarlett and Sophia.


A lifetime member of the First Apostolic Church in New Castle, Kevin serves as organist/pianist at the church as well as on the board of directors. Kevin released his first recording, "By Request" in 2010, on which he sings and plays the trumpet.


Kevin is a board member of the New Castle/Henry County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on other boards such as Henry County Community Foundation, Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union, and Selected Independent Funeral Homes Trust.


He enjoys camping with his family, collecting antiques and is a Mopar enthusiast.

Cindy attended Greenwood High School and Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA. She assists in special projects and events at Hinsey-Brown and also assists with keeping the facilities in tip-top shape with her decorating skills. She is a member of the First Apostolic Church in New Castle where she serves as Assistant Treasurer. She and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Evan, and his wife Zoe, of New Castle, and Olivia Fritz, and her husband, Everett of Port Orchard, WA. Cindy enjoys interior decorating, exercising, and traveling/camping with her family. Cindy and Kevin adore their grandchildren, Ethan, Hadley, Scarlett and Sophia.

Phil and his wife, Sandra, have two children, Keith (wife, Halie), and Karis (husband, Jayson) McGee. They have four grandchildren, Makenna Sue Hinsey, Kamden Robert Hinsey, Kenlie Paige Hinsey and Adeline Grace McGee. Phil is the co-founder of Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. He is a 1979 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and a 1982 graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and is a member of the New Castle First Church of the Nazarene.


Phil serves on the boards for First Church of the Nazarene, Foster Grandparents and the Christian Love and Help Center and is a member of Noon Optimist. He enjoys playing racquetball, performing in plays at civic theaters, and mostly spending time with his grandchildren.

John joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in February of 2006. He resides in New Castle with his wife, Chrissy. They have two children, Ellie and Jacob. John graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Mortuary Science. He is a member of First Apostolic Church in New Castle. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. John is a Funeral Director and General Manager at all locations and in 2012, he became a co-owner. John was named Employee of the Year in 2008.

Jon was born and raised in New Castle. He is a 2006 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and started working for Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in November of 2006. Jon married Jessie Brammer of Rushville on December 8 2019 and has 4 children Carson, Adalyn, Jackson and Ruby. 


Jon is a 2011 graduate of the Mortuary Science program at Ivy Tech Community College. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, aviation and snow skiing. He is an active member in the New Castle-Henry Country Kiwanis Club, a member of Elks # 484, and he currently serves on the Glen Oaks Advisory Board. Jon was named the 2010 Employee of the Year.

Shane joined the staff in 2015. He graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1997. He graduated from Vincennes University with an Associate's Degree in Ag Business. After working in agriculture for many years, Shane had a desire to go into the Funeral Service. In 2016, Shane started in Mortuary School at Ivy Tech and became a Funeral Director in 2018. Shane is a Member of Markleville Masonic Lodge #629, where he has served as Secretary Assistant and Assistant Secretary for several years. He attends Sulphur Springs Christian Church. He has a daughter, Isabelle, that attends Daleville High School and is a Varsity Basketball Player. Shane has a passion for serving and helping others. Shane was the Employee of the Year in 2022.

Ryan is the older child of Marty and Gina Ballard. He is a graduate of Shenandoah High School and attended Ball State University and Ivy Tech Community College.

He has been a member of the Middletown Fire Department and worked throughout high school at Howell Farms near Middletown. He is formerly a nationally certified paramedic and has worked for Methodist Hospital and Wishard (Indianapolis EMS) and Wayne Township Fire Department in Indianapolis. He also has served as a paramedic for Henry County EMS.

Ryan served his internship under the direction of Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services in New Castle and is now a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer with Hinsey-Brown.


He is married to his wife, Tracy who has served as a Registered Nurse with IU Health/Ball Memorial Hospital and is a former Lifeline Flight Nurse. She travels with the medical crew with the Holmatro Safety Team providing medical care for all Indy Car events. She currently is the Clinical Manager at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway working out of their infield care center. Ryan and Tracy are the proud parents of Kennedy Madeline, Madyson Lynn and Monroe Ann.


They are residents of Yorktown/Daleville area and active in the YMCA of Yorktown, the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene. Ryan served as a Delaware County Councilman for one term, founder of a nationally recognized podcast on funeral directing, and an advocate for emergency services in the state of Indiana. Ryan currently serves on the Delaware County 911 board. He testified before the state house committees on EMS and assisted with Shane Hardwick, EMT-P and Representative Karlee Macer on new legislation for EMTS's  and Paramedics concerning compensation for families who lost their loved ones due to injury on the job.

Juli is a 1991 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, where she met her husband Brandon M. Coffman. Brandon and Juli were married in September of 1994 and have two children, Gage Coffman and Abbi (Austin Allen) Coffman; two grandbabies, MemoryRose and Maddux Coffman. Juli and her family moved to New Castle from Greenfield, 11 years ago.


Juli finds it a great honor to help serve the families that come to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.


Juli joined the staff of Hinsey-Brown in January of 2017. Juli was the 2018 Employee of the year.

Adam has been a resident of New Castle his whole life. A fan of the "small town" lifestyle, he will likely remain there for the rest of it. Graduating from a small private school in 2011, he ventured off to several different colleges in various states, before returning with a degree in creative writing. Adam joined the Hinsey-Brown family in May of 2024, and is part of our main administrative staff. He enjoys reading, playing board games, and is often found pursuing his passion of writing.

Leanna is a 1969 graduate of Knightstown High School and a lifelong resident of the Knightstown area. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1973 and received a MA from Ball State University in 1979. She taught several years in the Charles A. Beard School system. She has also served as a church secretary, secretary for a Christian School, and secretary for a mission organization.


Leanna is a Commissioned Special Worker in the Wesleyan Church, enjoys music, has served with her husband in music ministry for many years, and works with Unitas International facilitating ministry in Mozambique and South Africa. She and her husband, Lenville, have one daughter, Rachel (Israel) Helm-Jovo and four grandchildren who serve as missionaries in Mozambique and South Africa.


She joined the Hinsey-Brown staff as secretary at the Knightstown Chapel in January, 2008. Leanna was named 2016 Employee of the Year.

Wanda joined the staff of Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in March 2010 and serves as the Preneed Advisor and Aftercare. A lifelong resident of New Castle, she and her husband, Glen, together have six children, 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Wanda graduated from American School in Chicago, Illinois in 1980. She has participated in Bereavement Skills Training with Dr. Alan Wolfelt from the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Ft. Collins, Colorado and received her certification as an Aftercare provider from the American Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. In 2016 she receive her insurance license to help our families with Advance Planning.


She attends Sovereign Grace Church in New Castle. Wanda enjoys gardening, camping and spending time with her family and grandchildren. In 2012, Wanda was name Hinsey-Brown's Employee of the Year.

Lenville is a 1970 graduate of Knightstown High School and a lifelong resident of the Knightstown area. He is a Commissioned Special Worker in the Wesleyan Church, where he served in music ministry for many years, was assistant pastor, and currently attends Memorial Wesleyan Church.


He has traveled extensively taking mission teams on short term mission trips to many countries throughout the world. He served as president of a mission organization for five years and is currently leading Unitas International, facilitating ministry in Mozambique and South Africa. He and his wife, Leanna, have one daughter, Rachel (Israel) Helm-Jovo and four grandchildren who serve as missionaries in Mozambique and South Africa.


He joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in July of 2007. Lenville was named Employee of the Year in 2023.

Courtney grew up in New Castle and is a 2009 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Together with her fiancé, Sean Shelton, they are blessed with four children, Aria, Haeven, Jaxon, and Kherington, that keeps them very busy with sports and extracurricular activities.


In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors with their four dogs, crafting, and reading.


Prior to Hinsey-Brown, Courtney worked as the Administrative Assistant at First United Methodist Church in New Castle, where she decided to pursue an education in Accounting. This education led her to joining Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in April of 2023.

Chrissy was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana. She graduated from Center Grove High School in 1992. She now resides in New Castle with her husband, John. They have two children, Jacob and Ellie, both of whom she loves dearly. Chrissy joined the Hinsey-Brown Staff in September of 2021. She has an unexplainable passion for helping others in their times of need. She is a faithful member of First Apostolic Church in New Castle. In her spare time, Chrissy enjoys playing tennis, vacationing in Florida, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Tyler was part of the Hinsey-Brown staff while in high school in 2012-2014 as a part-time employee. He returned to Hinsey-Brown as a full-time employee in 2021. He graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science in June of 2024 and is a Funeral Director Intern. He manages and operates the Raintree County Crematory and is one of the lead transfer staff at Hinsey-Brown. He is a 2013 graduate of New Castle High School. Tyler and his wife Hannah reside in Middletown and have three children, Lucas, Hadley, and Lauryn Brown. He is a member of First Apostolic Church in New Castle. Tyler is a musician and enjoys bowhunting and all things outdoors.

David was born and raised in the New Castle area. He graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1984. David is married to Marcella. They have two children, Emily and Tyler (wife, Hannah) and three grandchildren. He was employed by Draper Inc. for 21 years before joining Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service full time in 2008. He is a member and Past President of Henry County Business Networking International (BNI) Chapter. David is an active member of the First Apostolic Church in New Castle. He enjoys music, church, family, reading, and outdoor activities. David was named the Hinsey-Brown Employee of the Year in 2019.

Born and raised in New Castle, Emily is 2011 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and received her Associate's Degree of Science specializing in Social Work in 2020. In that same year, she joined Hinsey-Brown as part of their monument sales team. She was previously employed at Raintree Square Senior Living and enjoyed volunteer work with the Henry County CASA program, Lil Miracles Pregnancy Resource Center, and A Better Way domestic violence shelter. She is a lifelong member of First Apostolic Church in New Castle where she has taught Sunday School, leads children's choir, and participates in the adult choir. Emily loves to sing, shop, travel, read, and spend time with her wonderful nieces and nephew.

Gerald J. Myers was raised in the Springport area. A former barber, he retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2006. He and his wife, Sue, reside in New Castle and have five children, eighteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. They attend Sulphur Springs Christian Church. He enjoys spending time outdoors and playing golf.

Debi was born and raised in Henry County and lives outside of Kennard, Indiana. She is a 1976 graduate of Knightstown High School. She worked in banking for 45 years before retired in 2022 from STAR Financial Bank after 43 years. Debi was hired to work at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in February 2022.

Debi is married to Dan and together they have a daughter Danielle, husband Carl, and grandchildren Dawson, Cooper

and Carly.

Debi is currently serving of the following boards/committees: Henry Community Health Hospital Board of Directors, Henry County Community Foundation Board/Grants Committee Chair, Secret Families of Henry County Board, United Way of Henry County Day of Caring Committee, Greensboro Township Advisory Board, Knightstown ARPA Advisory Committee, and the Charles A Beard School Corporation

Building Board. Debi was named the 2021 Henry County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.

Mike was born and raised in New Castle and graduated from New Castle High School. He has been Married to Mikie Maze for 58 years. Together, they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. They attend South Memorial Drive Church of God in New Castle. Mike served in the Army and the National Guard for 6 years. Previously, he has been a children's youth camp director and has been on many different mission trips.

Ethan is a 2016 graduate of New Castle High School and is currently enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College. Ethan is a member of Turning Point Life Center in New Castle. He currently serves as the Indiana Children’s Ministries Director for the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is also an evangelist focusing on children’s ministry.


Ethan enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He finds great pleasure in decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas! For the last ten years, Ethan has put up a large Christmas display in New Castle which has since moved to Mooreland.


Ethan feels it is an honor to work with the families at Hinsey-Brown and is always happy to help in any capacity he can.

Brian was born in Vero Beach, Florida, and moved to New Castle when he was 10 years old. He graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1999 and then served in the United States Navy on the USS Seattle AOE-3. He later attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Following his years in Springfield, he moved back to New Castle to be close to family. Brian worked at Starbucks Coffee Company for approximately 9 years, and most recently managed the location in Richmond. He joined the Hinsey Brown team in 2023. Brian enjoys playing golf, watching sports, visiting Walloon Lake, and spending time with friends and family.

Dale grew up in the Kennard community and graduated from Knightstown High School in 1962. He has lived in Henry County his entire life.


He served four years in the United States Marine Corp. He is retired from Carpenter Local #1016 in Muncie. He joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in September, 2006. Dale was the Employee of the Year in 2017.


He and his wife, Vicki, have 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

Beverly was born and raised in Randolph County, IN and is a 1972 graduate of Union High School. She is married to her best friend and husband of 40 years, Dudley. They are blessed with three children Chris (wife: Dana) Guffey of Avon, Bryan and Jenny Guffey both of New Castle, two wonderful granddaughters, Lauren and Ashlyn and a grandson, James. Beverly joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in May of 2001. She enjoys sewing, embroidery, quilting, crocheting, cooking and camping.

Jen joined Hinsey-Brown in 2022 as our Aftercare Coordinator. She is a 1988 graduate of Union High School in Modoc. Jen and her husband, Shanon, reside in New Castle and attend Sovereign Grace Church. Together, they have four children and three grandchildren.


Jen enjoys cooking, taking trips to Florida and West Virginia, and spending time with her family.

Brad is a native of New Castle. He serves as a licensed minister in the Indianapolis District Church of the Nazarene. He studied at Olivet Nazarene University, Nazarene Bible College, and Harvard University. He is currently serving in eastern Hancock County as a licensed minister at both Shirley and Warrington Nazarene Churches. Brad has filled pulpits as needed, not only in the Nazarene Church, but wherever he could across Indiana. He has served several terms on the church board at the New Castle First Church of the Nazarene. He and his wife Ramona, sing together and have held numerous concerts and revivals, singing and preaching the Gospel. In his spare time, Brad loves spending time with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and friends. He keeps active, enjoying his role as a licensed IHSAA official in multiple sports.

Mitch has lived in the Knightstown area all his life. He and his wife, Sheryl, have been married 45 years. They have 3 children Michael, Eric and Kelli. He and his wife are members of the First Christian Church of Knightstown.

He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1998 after 31 years of service and started working for Hinsey-Brown in the fall of 2011. Mitch was named Employee of the Year in 2021.

Mitch enjoys being with family, riding his motorcycle, serving at church and working with people.

Ellie has been raised in New Castle. She attended New Castle Middle School and went on to graduate from an online school in 2020. Ellie attends Ivy Tech Community College and is going to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her two goldendoodles, Winston and Millie. She also enjoys playing pickleball and hunting with her dad. Ellie attends First Apostolic Church in New Castle where she participates in the adult choir.

Jr Maloyed joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in 2016. He graduated from Knightstown High School in 1960. He has been married to the love of his life, Sharron for 56 years. Jr. pastored the Bethel Holiness Church in Knightstown for 32 years, but has been active in the ministry for 52 years. Jr retired from Ingersoll Steele following 30 years of service.


In his spare time, Jr. enjoys raccoon, rabbit and squirrel hunting. He also enjoys spending time with his family and talking with his grandchildren that live out of state on the phone. Jr is also the current president of the local 729 retiree.

Mike is a 1969 Eastern Hancock High School graduate and attended 5 years at Indiana Vocation Technical College with 2 Associate Degrees and 1 year Technical certificate. He is a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Indianapolis Power and Light Company after 29 years.


Mike has been married to his wife for 45 Years, and has one son and two grandsons.


Mike started working at Hinsey-Brown in 2017.

Jack and his wife Cheryl have three adult children and four grandchildren. They have lived in New Castle for close to 30 years. He is a 1975 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School, Indiana, Purdue University at Ft Wayne, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Therapy and Southern

Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Religious Education.


Jack has been in ministry as the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church New Castle, the Pre-need and Aftercare Coordinator at Hinsey Brown, Senior Pastor of Moweaqua Baptist Church in Illinois, and the Hospitality Manager at Chick-fil-A in Noblesville, IN. He now serves as one of our Family Assistants.

Adam was raised in New Castle and is a 2023 graduate from Blue River Valley High School. He attends 9th St. Church of God and serves as the church pianist. He previously worked with his father, Allen Polston and his uncle Mark Polston in their family-owned construction company. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and frog gigging. Adam joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in August of 2023.

David was born and raised in Greenfield and is a 1973 graduate of Greenfield Central High School. He married his wife Marlene in 1974 and together they have four children; David, Scott, Amanda, and Amber. David ran his own construction company for 25 years in the New Castle area and then worked for the State of Indiana as an electrician for 15 years. David is a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Anderson. He joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in 2022.

Jacob is a 2018 graduate of New Castle High School and has lived in New Castle since he was around 7 years old. He is currently attending Ivy Tech Community College and is enrolled in the Mortuary Science program. He joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in 2021, but he worked part time while in high school as well. Jacob is one of the lead transfer staff at Hinsey-Brown. He resides with his lifelong love, Emily.

Brian was born and raised in New Castle and is a 1984 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Brian served in the United States Army for 4 years, spent 4 years in the National Guard, worked as a correctional officer in Pendleton for 12 years, and worked in facility maintenance at Millers Health Systems for 21 years. He has 4 children and 9 grandchildren. In his free time, Brian loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, and spending time with the Lord. Brian joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in August of 2023.

Perry was born in 2006 in Muncie and has lived in New Castle his entire life. He graduated High School in 2024. Perry attends The Sanctuary in New Casle, pastor Jeff Jaco, where he is involved in music ministry and Sunday School. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, mainly piano, attending church functions, and spending time with friends. He plans on attending Bible College in the fall and wants to become a licensed Minister. He joined the Hinsey-Brown staff in January of 2024.

Tony was born and raised in New Castle. He is a 1990 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Tony and his wife, Jodi, of 29 years, have two children. Their daughter, Keldyn, is a grad student at Ball State University. Their son, Dawsyn, is an agricultural worker and drives a semi in the Wayne County area.

Tony is a 28-year veteran and has achieved the rank of Captain for the New Castle Fire Department. He is a 2017 graduate of the Reppert School of Auctioneering. He is a state-licensed auctioneer and owner of Young's Auctions, LLC. Tony has been a Hinsey-Brown employee since 2018. He is a member of Open Arms Church in New Castle. In his spare time, he enjoys raising cattle on the family farm.

Rick is a 1974 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. He has a Bachelor of Music from Butler University that he received in 1978 and a Master of Arts from Ball State, received in 1982. Rick taught instrumental music for 38 years and is still active as a trumpet performer, clinician, and adjudicator. He and his wife Betsy have 3 adult children Matt, Jennifer, and Daniel. Rick joined the Hinsey-Brown family in 2021.

Ben and his wife Pat, live in Mt. Summit Indiana. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Ben attends Mt. Summit Christian Church where he currently serves as Elder and on the Board.


After retiring from his business, Ben attended Funeral Celebrant Training in July of 2018. Ben is trained to bring a personal touch and a celebration of life experience to grieving families through his training and also, his life experiences. Ben has owned a business, has been very active in his church, and has made it his mission to help with pastoral care through his church and friends.


Funeral Celebrants seek to meet the needs of families during their time of loss. Ben serves by providing a funeral service that is personalized to reflect the personality and lifestyle of the deceased.

Ralph has lived most of his life in Henry County. He currently lives in Knightstown with his wife, Clarice. He and Clarice (Jarvis) were married August 14, 1958. They have two daughters, Suzanne Wallace and Angie Buck, one son, Tim, seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ralph attends Faith Chapel Independent Baptist Church in Knightstown. He retired from Delco Remy General Motors in March of 1993. He has worked in various funeral homes for over 25 years and has worked for Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service since March of 2004. Ralph enjoys working with the families we serve and he was named the 2015 Employee of the Year.

Pat resides in Spiceland with her husband of 55 years, Wayne. She has been in funeral service since 1982 and has been employed by Hinsey-Brown since it was founded in 1995. She started as secretary and secured her life insurance license and was a pre-need consultant. She is now a part-time employee.


Pat attended Spiceland Schools and is a graduate of Highland High School in Anderson. She and Wayne have two daughters, Linda Emerson and Mandy Boyd. They have a grandson and three granddaughters. Pat is very active at Spiceland Friends, serves on the Spiceland Preservation and Tourism Society (Hoover Hall) Board where she has served as reservations clerk and is presently the secretary. She has also served on the Spiceland Alumni & Former Students Association Board for over 40 years. She enjoys sewing, reading, and being with her family. Pat operates a small business from her home, Bogie Bags, etc. Pat was also the 2011 Employee of the Year recipient.

Rev. Thomas “Tom” H. Current, 91, of New Castle, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at Heritage House of New Castle. He was born April 23, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana, a son of the late Charles and Minnie (Duke) Current.


Tom attended Center High School near Blountsville and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, including a year in Korea. He attended the Crossroads Bible College in Farmland at the beginning of his ministry and pastored several churches in central Indiana, most recently the Eastside Community Church in New Castle. He was presently a member of the Blountsville Christian Church and held his ministerial credentials through the Midwest Congregational Fellowship until 2017.


He had worked at Corfine, Inc. in Muncie for 12 years, Ball Brothers in Muncie for 12 years, and was self-employed in trucking for several years. He also worked at Main and Frame Funeral Home for several years, and worked at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service for 17 years.


Tom will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.

Joy Tinsley, 79, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the home of her son, following a brief illness. She was born March 23, 1936 in Soldier, KY, a daughter of the late Farris and Clara (Cline) Johnson.


A 1954 graduate of New Castle High School, Joy enjoyed participating in her class reunion activities. She owned and operated Joy’s Shoes in New Castle for over 20 years, where she became good friends with many of the ladies in the community. She had also been employed at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service for the past 15 years, where she was much like family to her colleagues. She had previously attended the South Memorial Drive Church of God, and presently attended Grace Baptist Church in New Castle.


An accomplished artist, Joy enjoyed oil painting, working in her flower gardens, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her beloved dog, Charlie.


Joy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.

Robert D. "Bob" Hinsey, age 84, of New Castle, passed away, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. He was born August 8, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana to the late C. Earl and Doris (Ray) Hinsey.


He had been employed at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service as a Funeral Director's Assistant and was named 2007 Employee of the Year.


Bob was a 1948 graduate of Connersville High School. He retired from Becker's IGA, in New Castle in 1994, where he worked as a meat cutter for 40 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where he had served on the board and as church treasurer. Bob had also taught Sunday school and had been a supervisor for the Children's Department for many years.


Bob will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.

James H. “Jim” Moyer, age 68, of Noblesville, formerly of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly at his residence, Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born September 18, 1944 in Henry County, Indiana to the late Herbert L. and Oma (Markle) Moyer.


A Spiceland native, he graduated from Spiceland High School in 1963. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 1999 following 34 years of service. He had also been employed at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service since 2000 where he was also staff organist. An accomplished organist since 1962, Jim had served as organist for several churches in Henry County and played at numerous weddings, funerals and a myriad of other functions. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #91. He was an avid antique lamp collector, but enjoyed all antiques.


Jim will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.

John was a very integral part of our Hinsey-Brown family. He passed away February 23, 2012 following an extended battle with cancer. He was born February 20, 1931 in Indianapolis, a son of the late Robert C. and Edith M. (Prentice) Lewis Sr.


A 1948 graduate of Broadripple High School in Indianapolis, he served in the U.S. Naval Reserves and co-owned along with his father and brother, Lewis Electric in Indianapolis from 1947-1952. He retired from Western Electric in Indianapolis in 1991. John also had farmed in Sheridan before moving to Knightstown in the early 1970s, where he also farmed for several years. He had also worked at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and Knightstown for the past nine years. He was a member of the Center Christian Church.


John enjoyed fishing, hosting community events, and enjoyed being with people in general. An avid woodworker, John had belonged to Raintree Woodcarvers, and had also built houses, done excavating work, worked with stained glass, and also enjoyed listening to good music.


John will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.

Helen was a very integral part of the Hinsey-Brown family. She passed away February 9, 2006 following a battle with cancer. She was born September 11, 1926 in Shelbyville, a daughter of the late Dennis and Della Shoemaker Sipes.


Helen was a self employed beautician until 1972 and employed by Knightstown Elementary School from 1980-1992. She worked at the Hats Off gift shop in Knightstown. She was currently employed at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service-Knightstown Chapel she Graduated from Knightstown High School in 1945. She was a member of the Shirley Friend's Church and the Shirley Friend's Missionary Society. Over the years she has had many hobbies. She loved reading, sewing, rummaging sales and cooking. She spent hours upon hours assiting her husband Joe in his ministry duties which included his schooling, studying, calling and attending all church activities. When Joe, who was blind was presented his diploma, the school awarded the same to Helen, due to the fact she read all the books and spend the same amount of time assisting Joe with his studying. Gammy loved spending time with her granddaughters. Kate's, Cori Beth and Kelly's friend referred to Helen as Gammy; also they loved spending time in her home. The memories that she has created for the girls were not only fun for them but also for their Gammy.


Helen is deeply missed by everyone who had the privialage to have known her.
